About:

PAULO SANTANA

In 2003, Paulo relocated from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Puebla, Mexico at the invitation of a family to train their son, who had Olympic aspirations. In 2005, Paulo left the private sector of show jumping and quietly opened a broader business to include new, young and up & coming talents. In 2007, Santana Stables opened their doors to receive students from around the world. Although still competing internationally, in 2009, Paulo and his family, wife Jennifer and daughter Isabella, chose Wellington as the new American base for Santana Stables. In 2010, they welcomed the newest addition to the family, their son Mattheus.

The diversity in the barn creates a team environment that includes the least experienced to the most decorated riders. In addition to the teaching, Paulo has developed a renowned sales business, which includes a curated collection of elite junior, amateur, young and Grand Prix horses.

Paulo Santana and Taloubet claimed top honors in the $35,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round Eleven, 2017.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITOR

Teaching has always been Paulo’s passion and focus, but in 2011 he added his own riding dreams to the equation. Paulo and his longtime partner, Taloubet, started knocking on the door with consistent results at WEF in the winter, a Bronze medal in the Spruce Meadows Canadian Championships in the summer and top placings on the American Indoor Circuit: Pennsylvania National Horse Show, Washington International Horse Show and The Kentucky National Championship.

Entering 2012 with solid momentum from the previous year, Paulo continued his success throughout WEF again that winter, and on the European Super League and the American Championship Tour in the spring, summer and fall. Although Paulo Santana is Brazilian born, he currently represents El Salvador in international competitions. Under his new flag, Paulo will continue to pursue his championship aspirations.
