With no minimum bid and zero lag time between purchase and show ring, the Santana Auction is an unprecedented opportunity to acquire a confirmed Grand Prix horse.
WEF’s FEI $137,000 Grand Prix CSI3 and CSIO Nations Cup marked a major milestones for this year’s Auction: Lot 12 (Canturano x Indorado) became the first official international Grand Prix horse on the Auction roster. Ridden by Joaquin Abisu of Argentina for the Santana Stables Auction House, the 9-year-old gelding had a top 8 finish in the Grand Prix qualifier and went on to jumping the CSI3 and Nations Cup.
Santana Stables’ fifteen 2020 Auction horses are all jumping 1.40M, with confirmed show histories in Europe and a selection have are actively competing on Florida’s Grand Prix circuit. Lot 12 is the first official international 1.60M competition horse. This weekend, in addition to Lot 12’s international debut, two Auction horses jumped in the $25,000 Venice Equestrian Tour Grand Prix, and another jumped in Sunday’s FEI $25,000 Hermes U25 Grand Prix.
Santana Stables was founded in 1996 by Paulo Santana, an international Grand Prix rider who has represented the United States, El Salvador, and Brazil. The first Santana Stables Auction was held in during the 2019 Florida Equestrian season, and saw top Grand Prix show jumpers sold to prestigious equestrians from Brazil, Mexico, and the United States.
